Russia has begun using missiles produced in 2026 to strike Ukraine. Ukraine's Presidential Office has shown fragments of a new Kh-101 missile.
This was reported by Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian president's commissioner for sanctions policy.
"This week, including overnight, the enemy used Zircon strike weapons — large anti-ship cruise missiles," Vlasiuk said.
He explained that the Kh-101 is a standard cruise missile, but one manufactured in 2026.
The Kh-32, meanwhile, is a new cruise missile based on the Kh-22, which Russia used for the first time to strike Kyiv.
The RM-48U, for its part, is a ballistic missile launched from the S-400 system, based on training target missiles.
"Each case of using a particular type of missile is not a random choice and has its own explanations. Partly, it is not from a good life. That is good. The photo shows a Kh-101 from 2026. As early as tomorrow, we will know its key components," Vlasiuk added.

Russia strikes Ukraine with missiles produced in 2026
As a reminder, during an overnight attack on Ukraine on January 20, Russian forces used updated tactics and employed missiles produced in 2026.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at least some of the missiles used in the strike were manufactured this year. That is why it is crucial that global sanctions against Russia and efforts to block the supply of critical components genuinely work.
