Ukraine sees no military threat from Zapad-2025 drills in Belarus

Ukraine is monitoring the joint Russia-Belarus Zapad-2025 drills, with no threats detected so far, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.
Kovalenko assured that the situation around the Russian Zapad-2025 exercises in Belarus is "under control."
"We see how many Russian troops are actually there, we understand everything that is happening. As of today, there are no military threats to Ukraine from there," he added.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation also warned that the Russians will "spin" this topic in the information space.
Zapad-2025 exercises
The joint Russian-Belarusian Zapad-2025 exercises are scheduled for September.
It is expected that more than 13,000 servicemen will take part in the drills.
Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin claimed that the main Zapad-2025 maneuvers have allegedly been moved deeper into the country away from the western borders to "reduce tensions in the region."
Earlier, State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said that the first Russian units had arrived in Belarus to participate in the Zapad-2025 exercises.
