During the 30th meeting of the Contact Group in the Ramstein format, Ukraine received an important signal — international support will continue and strengthen, the Defense Minister, Denys Shmyhal, stated.

According to him, partners agreed on significant deliveries of weapons, ammunition, and investments in the defense industry.

"Solidarity of the free world and systematic support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the key guarantee of a long and just peace," emphasized Shmyhal.

EU decision

The European Union confirmed its commitment to deliver 2 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine, of which 80% have already been collected. It also concerns the possibility of directing €6.6 billion from the EU Peace Fund to purchase American weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, the EU will invest in the defense industry through the SAFE mechanism and is preparing to allocate €4 billion each in October and November.

Partner countries’ assistance

Germany will provide two Patriot systems, as well as finance the purchase of Ukrainian drones for €300 million. The United Kingdom will finance the production of several thousand long-range strike drones, which are to arrive in Ukraine within a year.

Norway will allocate $8 billion in 2026, and also supply weapons for a Ukrainian brigade that is jointly equipped by the Scandinavian and Baltic countries. Denmark launches joint production of long-range weapons with Ukraine.

Canada announced funding of over $800 million for various aid programs, including the development of Coalition capabilities. Sweden is working on the 20th aid package, and the Czech Republic is preparing shipments of over one million rounds of ammunition in 2025.

Other agreements

The Netherlands announced aid of €1.2 billion by the end of the year and investments in deep strike projects. Poland will deliver 10,000 shells of 155 mm caliber very soon.

France accelerates the implementation of joint industrial projects and transfers Mirage aircraft. Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Belgium, and Luxembourg have also confirmed new support packages.

"Thanks to partners for a productive meeting and important agreements. NATO’s role in the development of the Ramstein format will grow, in particular in coordination among allies, emphasized the Defense Minister.

Previously, Defense Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, during the Ramstein meeting on 9 September, stated that Ukraine urgently needs 10 Patriot air-defense missile systems, as well as missiles for them.

EU Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the EU has completed 80% of the target of 2 million shells for Ukraine and aims to reach 100% by October.
