Ukraine secures major defense aid packages at Ramstein meeting - Ukrainian Defense Minister

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov summarized today’s Ramstein meeting. Ukraine received powerful aid packages from its partners, stated Umerov during a press conference before the meeting.
The Defense Minister stated that 50 countries attended today’s meeting, where they discussed budgets and priorities for 2025.
"Security assistance will continue. Air defense, interceptors, artillery, ammunition, and armored vehicles were prioritized, and we received very strong aid packages... And each participant confirmed that they will continue this support this year and in the future," he emphasized.
At the same time, the Minister noted that a number of bilateral meetings were held today.
"We started with the US Secretary of Defense, then had meetings with European partners. I believe the Ramstein meeting was productive. We agreed that the next Ramstein meeting will take place, and the location and time will be announced later," he stressed.
When asked by RBC-Ukraine whether the UK will chair the meeting again, the Minister replied that the matter is currently being discussed.
Ramstein meeting
On February 12, the 26th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took place at NATO headquarters in Brussels. This was the first meeting after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.
The US was represented by the new Pentagon chief, Pete Hegseth. Notably, the Ramstein meeting was chaired by the US for the first time, with the UK having previously taken the lead.
Earlier today, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov also met with Hegseth in Brussels.
