Ukraine's security guarantees include substantial measures on land, in the air, and at sea. They also cover two additional areas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president described this week as particularly productive.

"Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan — this is the geography of support and actions just for this one week," he said.

Zelenskyy noted that 35 countries are part of the Coalition of the Willing, with 26 of them already ready to guarantee Ukraine's security.

"In Ukraine's security guarantees, 26 countries are involved. This includes substantial measures on land, in the air, at sea, and in cyberspace. It also includes funding for our army. Most importantly, it means a strong enough Ukrainian army to ensure our full independence and sovereignty. That translates into weapons for the army and long-term funding for Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.

He added that many of these components were agreed upon with international partners as a foundation for the project.

Security guarantees for Ukraine

Discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine gained momentum when US President Donald Trump hosted Zelenskyy and European leaders at the White House on August 18.

On September 4, the Coalition of the Willing met in Paris. Following the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron said the countries had completed the preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine. He also confirmed that 26 countries are ready to send troops to Ukraine or support such a mission.

Zelenskyy recently stated that this could involve thousands of soldiers. He also emphasized that the security guarantees must take effect immediately, without waiting for a ceasefire to be established.

At the same time, he highlighted that the strongest security guarantee for Ukraine and all of Europe is the Ukrainian army. Numbering 800,000 personnel, it is one of the largest and strongest forces in Europe.
