The most difficult phase in relations between Ukraine and the United States is now behind us. The negotiation process is ongoing, and an American delegation will soon arrive in Kyiv, says Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Difficult phase over
"The most difficult period of our bilateral diplomatic track with the US is now behind us. We have managed to navigate this track correctly and pragmatically, while respecting each other’s positions," the Minister states.
The Foreign Minister clarifies that the negotiating teams of the two countries are in constant contact.
The next step is a visit by the American delegation to Ukraine. At the meeting, the parties will discuss further steps in the peace process.
"Ukraine truly holds the cards. We welcome the US efforts to bring about a just and comprehensive peace," Sybiha adds.
At the same time, Ukraine is not opposed to personal negotiations at the highest level.
Recently, US President Donald Trump explained why Ukraine has taken a back seat. According to him, many people are dying in Ukraine. However, the US is currently focused on the war in Iran.
Moreover, the US is postponing arms deliveries to Ukraine due to the depletion of its own arsenals. Even contracts that have already been paid for are being delayed.
