Who is part of the Ukrainian delegation

The following officials will also participate in the talks:

  • Head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov;
  • Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov;
  • First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Sergiy Kyslytsya;
  • Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa.

Talks with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and European representatives are scheduled for October 20, tentatively for the second half of the day.

What we know about the talks

The office of Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre previously confirmed to the Reuters news agency that talks involving Zelenskyy and representatives of the US and Europe would take place in Oslo.

According to the Norwegian government, Ukraine requested that Trump’s special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, be included in the meetings. Witkoff will travel to Oslo in person, while Kushner will participate in the talks remotely because he has come down with the flu.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre will also take part in the meetings.

The goal of the talks is to continue diplomatic efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war and put the negotiation process on a more constructive path.

Axios reported that after Oslo, Witkoff plans to travel to Russia, where he wants to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and present ideas developed during consultations with Ukraine and European partners.
