Ukraine's PM and EU Comission Chief discuss export of Ukrainian agricultural products
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held negotiations with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. They discussed the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
"A productive conversation with Ursula von der Leyen on supporting the export of Ukrainian agricultural products. We have agreed on simplifying procedures, developing new checkpoints and logistic routes. We have coordinated the preparation of a new financial instrument, the Ukraine Facility (a program for financing the budget deficit) for economic development," wrote Shmyhal.
Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal
The export of Ukrainian agricultural products was reduced after Russia decided to withdraw from the grain deal. The agreements within this initiative allowed Ukraine to transport grain via the Black Sea.
To counteract this, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered the UN and Turkey to continue Ukrainian exports, even despite Russia's withdrawal from the deal. According to the head of state, the government is currently developing a clear plan for such grain transportation together with the military.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has decided to set a number of demands for Russia's return to the grain deal.
