A massive Ukrainian drone attack overnight on June 25 reportedly targeted nearly 20 Russian regions simultaneously, from border areas to the Moscow region, according to Russia's Ministry of Defense.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian air defense systems allegedly intercepted and destroyed 323 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight.

The attack reportedly affected:

  • Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, and Volgograd regions

  • Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, and Orenburg regions

  • Penza, Smolensk, and Tula regions

  • The Moscow region and Krasnodar Krai

  • Occupied Crimea

Russia also claimed that drones were allegedly destroyed over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

However, full information about the consequences of the attacks is typically not disclosed by Russian authorities.

What is known about the consequences of the attacks

Explosions were reported overnight in Russia's Orenburg region. A local gas processing plant, one of the largest in Russia, may have come under attack.

Local authorities confirmed a drone attack. Due to the UAV threat, the Carpet air restriction regime was introduced in the region, and airports in Orenburg, Orsk, and Yasny temporarily suspended operations.

Occupied Crimea was also subjected to a massive attack overnight.

In addition to strikes on Sevastopol's energy infrastructure, explosions and large fires were recorded at military facilities of the Russian forces in Bakhchisaray and Kerch.
