US President Donald Trump described the war in Ukraine as a meat grinder and called for an end to the mass loss of life. The Ukraine war is not a war of the United States, stated Trump during his latest speech at the White House.

The US President recalled a conversation with the head of the German government about international conflicts.
"When I heard the head of Germany say, 'This is not our war' about Iran, I said, well, Ukraine’s not our war. We helped, but Ukraine’s not our war," Trump said.
He added that he found his German counterpart’s remarks inappropriate, but noted that the opinion had already been expressed and could not be changed.
"I said: 'Well, you know, Ukraine's not our war, and it's not, but I would like to see all those young people stop being killed and then they're being killed'," Trump stated, adding that what’s happening in Ukraine is like a meat grinder.
Trump also noted that the war in Ukraine has had little negative impact on domestic US affairs. On the contrary, the country gains certain benefits from supplying military equipment.
"The whole Ukraine situation is very tough. We are working very hard on getting that one solved," the US President said.
Earlier, Trump criticized NATO and accused allies of cowardice, saying the Alliance is turning into a paper tiger.
Meanwhile, negotiations on Ukraine remain at a deadlock. Finnish President Alexander Stubb said the pause is due to two reasons.
