The surveillance of Ukrainian drones over highways in occupied Crimea will pose a serious problem for Russian civilians and illegal tourists, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy.

According to Pletenchuk, Russian troops have now effectively concentrated their main logistical operations on the so-called land corridor. Its main drawback for the Russians is that it runs much closer to the front line compared to other routes.

"At some point, they were bound to start getting hit there, and that moment has finally arrived. And while this will be a problem for the Russians, it will mostly be a problem for Russian civilians," Ukraine's Navy spokesperson emphasizes.

He adds that such vulnerable logistics will directly impact those who illegally travel to Ukrainian Crimea for vacation or who reside there permanently.

Consequences for Russian Armed Forces

Despite constant losses, the Russian army will, out of habit, continue to use these routes to transport military cargo. The Russians will feel the real consequences on the front lines when the number of destroyed vehicles and fuel trucks exceeds the volume of supplies they are still able to deliver.

Pletenchuk notes that Russia will attempt to strengthen its air defense to protect supply lines, but adapting to new threats takes time.

"It will be quite difficult to neutralize the threat we have created for the Russians, particularly on this logistics route to Dzhankoi," he says.

Operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to disrupt the land route between Crimea and Donetsk, destroying Russian military equipment even in remote rear areas.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence carried out strikes against Russian military convoys in the temporarily occupied Crimea. These trains were used to transport military equipment, ammunition, and fuel supplies.
