A large-scale assessment of the readiness of Belarusian Air Force units and air defense troops is part of the Kremlin's strategy to create tension at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

The center noted that today the main threat to Ukraine from Belarus is informational.

"Through constant military checks amid bellicose statements from Belarusian officials, the Kremlin is trying to continually escalate tensions at the border and keep our forces focused on the Belarusian direction," the Center emphasized.

They also added that there are currently no forces in Belarus capable of invading Ukraine.

Background

It was reported today that the Belarusian army began another phase of inspections for its units and military formations starting September 30. The inspections are focused on the readiness and ability of the military units and air force to perform their assigned tasks.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated that personnel, including reservists called up from the reserve, are required to carry out all necessary measures to prepare weapons, military, and special equipment for deployment, as well as to move to designated areas.
