Ukraine's Minister of Defense discusses meeting with his US counterpart
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin. They discussed the supply of weapons to Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
According to Umerov, he informed Lloyd Austin about the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's future goals. Ukrainian generals outlined the priority needs of the Ukrainian army in terms of weapons, equipment, and training for the military.
"We specifically discussed the situation regarding the ongoing Russian shelling of civilian objects and critical infrastructure. In the last four days alone, Russian invaders have attacked Ukraine with more than 400 different missiles and drones," Umerov wrote.
He emphasized that air defense remains a priority for Ukraine, particularly the need for air defense systems and missiles to protect critical infrastructure, cities, and civilians.
"Another focus of the meeting was the development of Ukraine's defense industry. Over the past two years, we have launched hundreds of new enterprises capable of quickly producing high-quality weapons. Cooperation with our partners is critically important for expanding this production and ensuring even more effective defense of Ukraine," Umerov stressed.
