In the northern part of the Kharkiv region, Russia is acting in small assault groups. At the same time, there are no signs that the Russians are preparing a full-scale offensive, according to Oleksii Krymeniuk, head of the planning department of the Khartiia 13th operational brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

"There is no significant accumulation of Russian forces and equipment, and we do not expect a large-scale offensive in our direction (Kharkiv - ed.). At the same time, he is replenishing these forces and means to find a gap in the defense and conduct a more massive assault. In recent weeks, there have been several Russian attempts to launch an assault, but the attempts were unsuccessful, and the equipment and infantry were destroyed," Krymeniuk explained.

According to him, the Russians are also actively using motorcycles, ATVs, and other vehicles, which are usually used not for attacks, but for transporting personnel to positions.

"Motorized vehicles are effective in any weather, their tactic is to use small assault groups, because the larger the group, the greater the likelihood of being hit by our drones," he noted.

Situation at frontline

Over the past day, May 29, 173 combat engagements were registered on the frontline. Russia put the most pressure on the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions.

Back in late March, many Western media outlets reported that Russia was preparing for a new military offensive against Ukraine.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the largest and strongest Russian troops are now in the Kursk sector. Currently, Russia is trying to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces out of the region and prepare an offensive against the Sumy region.
