The village of Hraniv in the Derhachi community of the Kharkiv region remains under Ukrainian Armed Forces control. The Ukrainian 14th Army Corps explained why the enemy is spreading this false claim.
Russian sources spread information claiming that Russian forces had captured Hraniv and destroyed units of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Defense Forces emphasized that this does not correspond to reality.
According to the military, Ukrainian units are holding the ground, repelling enemy assaults, and inflicting losses in manpower and equipment.
All statements from the Russian Telegram channels about friendly fire strikes, successful assaults, and close combat were described by the military as fabricated elements of an information campaign.
Its goal is to cover up Russia’s own failures, demoralize Ukrainian society, and create another "victory on credit."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the 14th Army Corps had also denied a similar Russian fake about the capture of the village of Riasne in the Krasnopillia community of the Sumy region by units of Russia’s 34th motorized rifle brigade and the defeat of Ukrainian forces.
The corps called it another information and psychological operation and stressed that the village remains under Ukrainian control and the situation is stable.
