Ukraine has lodged a protest with Belarus over baseless accusations and threats regarding the incident involving a truck in Russia's Bryansk region, according to a comment by Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.
The Ukrainian foreign ministry responded to the summoning of Ukraine's Chargé d'Affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk and to statements by the Belarusian side regarding events in the Bryansk region of Russia.
The ministry emphasizes that accusing Ukraine without providing convincing evidence of involvement is completely baseless.
Tykhyi noted that public accusations against Ukraine by Minsk were accompanied by rhetoric alleging that Ukraine was deliberately dragging Belarus into the conflict, as well as threats of adequate response measures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned attempts to shift responsibility for the consequences of Russian aggression, artificially create an image of Ukraine as a source of threats, and deliberately escalate tensions in the region.
The ministry called on the Belarusian side to refrain from information manipulation and noted that it will not tolerate baseless allegations.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that they rejected such absurd accusations from a country that was an accomplice to the crime of aggression against Ukraine and provided extensive assistance to Russia in its criminal war of aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian diplomats emphasize that attempts to use this incident to justify further support for Russian aggression or to create additional threats to our country are completely unacceptable.
On October 9, Belarus accused Ukraine of attacking a truck in the Bryansk region of Russia.
Minsk claimed it was a deliberate step by Kyiv and consequently summoned Ukraine's Chargé d'Affaires to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, the Belarusian side continues to actively facilitate Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory.
As reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Belarus periodically activates relay stations for Russian drones, which boost the signal for Russian UAVs during massive attacks.
