Minsk views the drone attack on a truck in Russia's Bryansk region as a deliberate act by Ukraine. In connection with this incident, a Ukrainian diplomat was summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, states Ruslan Varankov, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Belarusian side, on October 8, a drone attacked a freight vehicle with Belarusian license plates in the Bryansk region of Russia.
As a result of the explosion, a Belarusian citizen sustained severe injuries. The woman was hospitalized and required surgery, which included the amputation of limbs. The victim was provided with the necessary medical assistance.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine and handed him a note of protest.
Minsk claims that the truck's affiliation was obvious, and therefore views the incident as a deliberate act.
"The Ukrainian side has been warned against repeating such actions. It was emphasized that full responsibility for their consequences rests with the Ukrainian authorities. Belarus reserves the right to take adequate response measures," stated Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ruslan Varankov.
The Belarusian side called for an end to steps that allegedly lead to an escalation of the situation.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a Russian drone strike near the Yahodyn border crossing occurred with the direct assistance of the Belarusian side.
To boost the signal and guide Russian drones, Belarus once again activated its relay stations.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine notes that this is not an isolated incident - Minsk periodically provides its airspace and technical infrastructure to support Russian UAVs.
