Ukraine’s Border Guard Service reveals Belarus’ role in Russian drone attack near Yahodyn

The enemy drone strike near the Yahodyn checkpoint was carried out with the assistance of Belarus, which once again switched on repeaters to boost the drones’ signal, states Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
According to him, the Belarusian side is actively assisting Russia during attacks on Ukraine. To this end, repeaters are switched on in Belarusian territory to boost the signal for Russian drones.
"Entering from Russian territory, they then stay close to the border with Belarus in order to receive this signal and be able to penetrate deeper into Ukrainian territory, including the western regions: Rivne region, Volyn region, and Lviv region," Demchenko explained.
He clarified that the attack in the direction of the Yahodyn checkpoint was also carried out with such support.
Border situation
Demchenko noted that Belarus had previously been warned by the Ukrainian president that assisting the aggressor by using repeaters was unacceptable. After that, the Belarusian side temporarily switched off the equipment, but has now activated it again.
At the same time, the State Border Guard Service assured that despite the constant threat from the Belarusian direction, there are currently no direct signs of a buildup of a ground force grouping.
"There is currently no buildup of any strike force near our border that would be ready to launch an invasion," Demchenko stressed.
What is known about the Russian strike
On September 13, Russian forces struck a gas station and a passenger train at the Yahodyn railway station in the Volyn region, near the Ukrainian-Polish border.
One of the Russian drones hit the locomotive of a train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw. Among the passengers were security advisers from several EU countries, as well as former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The incident triggered a strong reaction from Warsaw. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk convened an emergency meeting and said Russia could quickly invade Polish territory.
In addition, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the Russian President, in desperation, ordered the passenger train near the Polish border to be attacked. He added that this had not intimidated NATO and that support for Ukraine would continue.
