Ukrainian intelligence officers from the unmanned systems forces have destroyed Russia's latest radar system in occupied Crimea — the Valday radar, according to the press service of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR).

First, intelligence units detected the expensive Russian radar, which had been carefully camouflaged at the Dzhankoi airfield, and then struck it.

"Demilitarization of Crimea continues!" the HUR press service stated, sharing a video of the radar's destruction.

The Valday radar system is considered one of Russia's newest complexes. It includes an electronic jamming module capable of suppressing drone control, navigation, and communication signals.

Russia uses the Valday system to detect and counter unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly small drones.

Its detection range for small UAVs is between 5 and 6 kilometers, while for larger drones it exceeds 15 kilometers.

The Valday radar is still in limited use, as it remains in the testing phase and is described as one of the first prototypes in its class.

Earlier, HUR reported the destruction of two Valday radar systems in Russia's Moscow region.

During the night of February 6–7 this year, a powerful explosion occurred in the city of Dolgoprudny near Moscow — Ukrainian defenders struck the enemy's radar responsible for protecting the airspace over the Russian capital.

Recently, Ukrainian intelligence also destroyed another high-value target in occupied Crimea — a Russian radar system that is part of the S-400 complex.

It was also reported that near the city of Saky, a strike hit the radar station of Russia’s S-400 Triumf air defense system.
