About Mozdok air base
This airfield is located in North Ossetia. It is known from open sources that a separate 485th helicopter regiment of Russia is based there.
Ukrainians know this airfield because MiG-31K aircraft take off from there. They are the carriers of Kinzhal missiles and the cause of large-scale air alerts in Ukraine. The last time Russia used these missiles was on May 26, when air defense failed to destroy them.
As of the end of April 2024, according to Defense Express, not only MiG-31K aircraft, but also Tu-22M3 bombers, Su-25M aircraft, and helicopters of various types were spotted at the Mozdok airfield.
The distance from Ukraine (government-controlled territories) to North Ossetia is at least 900 kilometers. This is the first drone attack on North Ossetia.
