Ukrainian intelligence is upgrading its Magura naval drones following the successful destruction of two Russian fighter jets over the Black Sea. Russians are advised to "get ready" and "stay alert," states Yevhen Yerin, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during a national telethon live broadcast.

According to him, the successful strike on Russian aircraft by Magura naval drones demonstrates the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ tactics.

"A tremendous, colossal effort has been made. The Black Sea has long ceased to be safe for the aggressor state. From the first strikes on ships and helicopters, and now aircraft, it is clear that we are moving in the right direction. We are advancing steadily, and this progress will continue," Yerin said.

He also announced upgrades to the Magura-type drones, noting that these are no longer just individual units but a whole line of multifunctional naval systems. These drones are being deployed in various combat conditions and continue to evolve.

"The Magura drone family now includes not just one or two modifications but multipurpose drones used in different situations. They have numerous options and capabilities for deployment. There is more to come — progress is ongoing and relentless. The enemy must be prepared and remain on alert, because it will be Ukrainians and their allies who dominate the Black Sea, not the Russians," Yerin emphasized.

Downing of two Russian Su-30 jets over the Black Sea

Recently, Ukrainian forces shot down two Russian Su-30 fighter jets over the Black Sea. According to the head of the Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, the agency used three Magura V7 unmanned surface vessels to carry out the operation.

On May 2, Defense Intelligence downed a Russian Su-30 aircraft near Novorossiysk. Later, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that two Russian jets had been shot down.
