Russians continue to falsely claim "successes" on the battlefield, while in reality they have achieved none. The situation in Myrnohrad, Huliaipole, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Kupiansk contradicts the Kremlin's public statements, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The General Staff noted that the Russian military-political leadership is hastily inventing "successes" along the front line to influence the negotiation process. Russian fabrications have nothing to do with reality.

The General Staff briefly explained the situation in the areas mentioned by Russian leader Vladimir Putin:

  • Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region: The situation is difficult, but the defensive operation continues, with Ukrainian forces destroying Russian infantry groups in the city.
  • Myrnohrad, Donetsk region: The situation is also difficult. However, the enemy cannot capture the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration despite repeated attempts and losses, which has prompted disinformation.
  • Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region: Russians are lying about "controlling" half the city. In reality, Ukrainian forces are eliminating enemy units on the approaches. Recently, an assault column attempting to break into Kostiantynivka was destroyed.
  • Kupiansk: Russians have repeatedly claimed "control" over the city in the Kharkiv region. In reality, the remaining Russian troops are blocked in Kupiansk and are being destroyed.
  • Pokrovsk: Russians have tried to capture the city for 17 months but continue to suffer significant losses. Hysterical claims of its alleged "capture" are false.

"It is clear that Russian lies are primarily aimed at foreign partners and have intensified during peace negotiations. However, Russian disinformation will not affect Ukraine's position or ongoing diplomatic efforts," the General Staff emphasized.

The General Staff reminded that the only real outcome of Putin's statements is massive losses for Russian forces. Every day, at least 1,000 Russian soldiers are either killed or wounded.

Kremlin fabrications

On December 27, Putin allegedly "visited" a "command post" of Russian forces in Ukraine. There, he received a report from Valery Gerasimov, head of the Russian General Staff, who lied about the "liberation" of Myrnohrad and Huliaipole.

The lies were ridiculed by the Center for Countering Disinformation, which noted that the Russian regime is trying to invent new "successes on the front" in Ukraine because there are no real achievements. All statements by Russian leader Vladimir Putin should be interpreted this way.

In reality, Ukrainian forces control over 90% of Kupiansk, completing the clearance of remaining Russian units. Huliaipole faces one of the most difficult situations on the front. Russians are trying to enter the city, but their infantry groups are being destroyed.

Heavy fighting continues in Pokrovsk, while Ukrainian forces continue to amass units for a counterattack. A defensive operation is underway in Myrnohrad. Russians have committed ten units to capture it but have failed. On the approaches to Kostiantynivka, a Russian assault column was recently defeated, with their "shed tanks" destroyed.
