Ukrainian soldiers attacked an oil refinery in the Volgograd region of Russia on the night of January 31. This refinery is one of the 10 largest in Russia, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The operation was carried out by the units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers struck LLC Lukoil-Volgogradnaftoperobka in the Volgograd region.

"This refinery is among the ten largest oil refineries in Russia in terms of design capacity and is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian reports.

After the attack, flares and explosions were recorded in the area of ​​the plant, which is important for the Russian troops. The results of the fire damage are being clarified.

On the night of January 31, explosions were reported in the Volgograd region of Russia. The Russians announced a drone attack on a local refinery.

Footage of flares in the area of ​​the oil refinery and the sounds of explosions were published on the Internet.

Later, the head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, reported that a refinery in the Volgograd region was damaged. He noted that this is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. They produce gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and aviation fuel.
