Ukraine’s foreign minister responds to US after Russian night attack

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on X urged a closer look at Russia's actions amid reports that the US refuses to label the Russian Federation as an aggressor in UN and G7 resolutions.
The Foreign Minister reminded that on the night of February 23, Russia launched a record 267 drones at Ukraine, targeting civilians and critical infrastructure.
Sybiha criticized attempts to appease Russia and requests not to label it as an aggressor in the war.
"This demonstrates that avoiding calling Russia an aggressor does not change the fact that it is one. No one should trust Putin’s words. Look at his actions instead," he wrote.
"Weak" US resolutions
Recently, Western media reported that the US opposed calling Russia an aggressor in a joint statement from G7 countries for the first time. This statement was prepared ahead of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
Additionally, as reported by Reuters, the US will not be co-sponsoring a UN resolution regarding the war in Ukraine for the first time since the conflict began. Later, Washington proposed its version of the resolution, which is significantly weaker in substance and does not actually label the Russian Federation as an aggressor.
According to The Washington Post, the US requested Ukraine to withdraw the UN resolution and replace it with a weaker version.
