Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s claim that Ukraine is not sovereign shows the influence of Russian propaganda, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha wrote on X.

According to Sybiha, the "good news" in Orbán’s statement is that Hungary effectively acknowledged the violation of Ukraine’s airspace by drones.

"Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, how is your tweet about "fake" going? Did not age well?" Sybiha wrote, recalling Szijjártó’s earlier denial that airspace violations had taken place.

At the same time, Sybiha stressed that the "bad news" is that Orbán remains under the influence of Russian propaganda.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also noted that he looks forward to hearing Orbán’s thoughts on state sovereignty "once he has broken free from his dependence on Russian energy, as US President Donald Trump and European partners insisted multiple times."

What Orbán said

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán claimed that even if several Hungarian drones violated Ukraine’s airspace, there is no problem with that.

He added that Ukraine "is not an independent sovereign state" because it is sustained by Western countries.

Orbán also urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to focus on developments in the country’s east.
