Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have expanded the geographic scope of their strikes against the Russian fleet. Following the Sea of Azov, Russian ships in the Black Sea are now in their sights, according to Robert Brovdi, call-sign Magyar, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
20 Russian vessels in 24 hours
Brovdi summarizes the results of the new phase of the naval operation against the Russian fleet. According to him, the previous phase in the Sea of Azov has already been completed, and now it is the Black Sea’s turn.
"116 vessels of the Russian shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov—the first round of the naval battle is over. Now it’s the Black Sea’s turn, 20:0 for today: 17 oil tankers, 2 gas tankers, and 1 tugboat have been sunk. An official report will follow shortly, along with video evidence," Brovdi writes.
Ships struck
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have struck:
- 17 oil tankers
- 2 gas tankers
- 1 tugboat.
Yesterday, it became known how many Russian vessels the Unmanned Systems Forces had struck on July 13.
On that day, USF personnel killed or wounded 311 Russian troops and struck 15 Russian vessels.
On the same day, the Ukrainian military sank the Russian FSB border guard ship Izumrud near Novorossiysk using a maritime drone.
In 2018, this vessel took part in an attack on Ukrainian Navy ships in the Kerch Strait area.
