Ukrainian sea drone sinks Russia's Izumrud warship

The Ukrainian military destroyed the Russian FSB border patrol ship Izumrud near Novorossiysk. The vessel was sunk using a maritime drone, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
A Russian 2nd-rank patrol ship was attacked by a Sargan-3000 unmanned maritime system. As a result of the strike, the Russian vessel sank.
The Navy notes that there were fatalities and injuries among the ship’s crew.
What Izumrud known for
It was this very Russian ship that, on November 25, 2018, attacked Ukrainian Navy ships in the Kerch Strait area.
The Izumrud was launched in 2014. The ship was 62.5 meters long, had a displacement of up to 750 metric tons, and was equipped with a helicopter pad. The ship’s maximum speed reached 27 knots.
On the night of July 13, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems units struck 15 vessels of the Russian shadow fleet. In addition, energy facilities in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as Russian air defense systems, were targeted.
On the night of July 9, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked Russian ships, an oil terminal, and an ammunition depot. In particular, 12 Russian Navy ships were struck in the waters of the Sea of Azov.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia had lost control of the situation in the Black Sea. During his meeting with military officials, a diagram marking the destroyed ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was also spotted.
Meanwhile, the UK Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian military has begun equipping submarines with protective cages in an effort to shield them from drone attacks.
