On the evening of October 1, residents of Dnipro saw a bright blue flash in the sky. Immediately afterward, power and water disruptions began across the city, according to Suspilne and local Telegram channels.

According to reports, the flash in the sky over Dnipro appeared suddenly and disappeared within a few seconds.

The cause of the flash is unknown. No official statements have been made so far. No air raid alert was issued in the city, and no explosions were heard.

Power issues are being recorded across the city. In some areas, electricity returned immediately after a brief outage, while in other locations, it remains off. This likely also caused problems with the water supply.

At the same time, DTEK (energy company - ed.) reported no network short circuits or damage.

Residents of Dnipro posted videos from cameras showing the bright blue light covering the sky, which completely dissipated within seconds.

Power issues in Ukraine due to Russian attacks

Earlier today, October 1, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities.

As a result, 307,000 consumers in several districts of the Chernihiv region were left without power, and scheduled blackouts were introduced in the region.

In addition, due to a Russian strike on an energy facility in Slavutych, Kyiv region, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is in a state of blackout. Specialists are already working to restore the power supply.

Meanwhile, in the Sumy region, the Konotop and Shostka districts were partially left without electricity after Russian attacks.
