Massive enemy attacks on the Chernihiv region on Wednesday, October 1, damaged critical energy facilities, causing widespread power outages. As a result, rolling blackouts are being introduced in the region, according to Chernihivoblenergo (a regional power distribution company).

As a result of the damage to energy facilities, 307,000 consumers across several districts of the Chernihiv region were left without power.

"The available capacity in the energy system is not enough to supply all consumers at once, so we are forced to take extreme measures – an hourly power outage schedule. It will take effect from 8:00 PM on October 1," the post says.

The schedule includes four rotation groups. According to it, consumers will have electricity for three hours, followed by six hours of outages.

"The schedule also specifies time for reconnections – during this period, electricity will be turned off and on," consumers were warned.

Chernihivoblenergo emphasized that this measure is temporary and will remain in place only while repair work is carried out on the damaged facilities.
