Ukraine's defense intelligence takes out two Russian special forces teams

Fighters from Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Timur Special Unit carried out a counter-sabotage operation, eliminating two groups of Russian troops from the 10th Separate Guards Special Purpose Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces' General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR).
Ukrainian intelligence officers identified the composition of the Russian groups and their routes, using human intel, including information from within enemy ranks, and technical surveillance.
Based on the information gathered, the fighters set up an ambush to intercept the Russian special forces troops.
After locating the enemy, Ukrainian troops launched a fire strike and cleared the area. One Russian special forces soldier was captured. The operation eliminated both enemy groups.

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence notes that the 10th Separate Guards Special Purpose Brigade is a regular unit of Russiaэs military intelligence service.
Its personnel have taken part in wars against Georgia and Ukraine, as well as Russia’s military campaign in Syria.
It is also worth noting that members of the brigade were documented in occupied Ukrainian territories as early as 2014–2015.
HUR emphasizes that, over the course of the operation in the Zaporizhzhia direction, fighters from the Timur Special Unit have killed 448 Russian servicemen and captured another 85.
In addition, Ukraine’s military intelligence has assessed how long Russia’s resources will last as it continues the war.
