Ukraine's Defense Intelligence conducts operation in Belgorod region: Russians suffer losses
Ukrainian intelligence operatives carried out a raid in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, successfully inflicting losses on the enemy, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The Main Intelligence Directorate reported that they implemented a series of special operations to protect Ukrainians residing near the border with Russia.
"According to obtained intelligence, the leadership of the Russian occupation army planned an inspection of positions in the Graivoron district of the Belgorod region due to dissatisfaction and complaints from the local personnel about poor service conditions," the statement said.
Before the arrival of Moscow "inspectors," the occupiers began active engineering work. The defense intelligence fighters conducted an operation to inflict losses on the enemy and worsen their morale and psychological state.
Special forces mined the only road used by the occupiers in the specified area and attacked the Russian platoon's defensive position with small arms and mortars.
The defense intelligence fighters succeeded in causing losses to the enemy, and the exact number of eliminated and wounded occupiers is being clarified.
Situation in Belgorod
Since December 30, Russians have been complaining about shelling in Belgorod and the surrounding region. RBC-Ukraine's sources in the intelligence services reported that on December 30, the Security and Defense Forces launched a missile strike on military targets in Belgorod.
As claimed by the Russians, the shelling continued on January 1 and 2. Russian officials and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claimed having allegedly intercepted missiles.
On the evening of January 4, explosions were heard again in Belgorod, and Russians on social media wrote about "incoming" and the operation of air defense systems.
