NATO allies on the eastern flank and countries in the Persian Gulf are defending themselves against Russian and Iranian drones thanks to Ukrainian technology, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says at the Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington.

He says right now, allies on NATO's eastern flank and their friends in the Persian Gulf are defending themselves against Russian and Iranian drones thanks to Ukrainian technology that didn't even exist a year ago.

The NATO Secretary General emphasizes that allies are moving quickly to secure budgets, build up their armed forces, and implement the necessary capabilities, but, Rutte added, they need more.

"We will need more high-end exquisite capabilities to defend against modern missiles our adversaries are employing against Kyiv and Tel Aviv. More scalable, adaptable drone interceptor technology. And here Ukraine's hard-earned battlefield lessons are saving lives beyond its own borders," he notes.

Rutte also says that more high-tech capabilities are needed to defend against the modern missiles our adversaries are using against Kyiv and Tel Aviv.

Earlier, the Ukrainian President stated that over 200 Ukrainian military experts are helping Middle Eastern countries repel suicide drone attacks.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian specialists are working in three countries in the region, and over 30 additional specialists are ready for deployment.

Kyiv has sent three groups of specialists in countering Shahed drones to the Middle East. This involves not only sharing expertise on intercepting drones but also an effort to strengthen their own air defense systems, particularly by acquiring PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.

Ukrainian instructors deployed to the Middle East were surprised by the allies’ ineffectiveness in combating drones.
