The Ukrainian army is one of the four most trustworthy armies in the world. At the same time, Ukraine, including in its own interests, must be integrated into NATO as soon as possible, says Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.
According to her, Ukraine should be integrated into NATO as soon as possible, including in its own interests. The Minister also states that Ukraine is one of only four armies in Europe that are trustworthy, alongside the armed forces of Türkiye, Poland, and Finland.
Valtonen does not rule out the possibility that US President Donald Trump might abandon his opposition to Ukraine’s NATO membership. She notes that he is, after all, a negotiator.
Former Chief of Staff of the German Ministry of Defense Nico Lange spoke about Ukraine’s role in NATO’s defense. He stated that in the event of a Russian attack on the Baltic states, Kyiv could become part of a joint defense shield. According to the expert, this is precisely what should deter Russia from new adventures.
He also emphasized that only a small group of European countries was providing practical support to Ukraine, but they did not have a clear idea of how to proceed.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that NATO continued to disintegrate, and this poses a threat to transatlantic unity. He noted that it was necessary to do everything necessary to reverse this catastrophic trend.
The Donald Trump administration has developed a sort of ranking of NATO allies, dividing them into obedient and disobedient categories. There are no specific mechanisms yet for punishing the disobedient, but options are already on the table.
