Ukraine's army chief names Russia's losses in war since beginning of year

Russian forces are suffering significant losses in the war against Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2025, the Russian army's casualties in terms of personnel have amounted to about 91,000, according to the Telegram of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"Every day, the occupiers suffer devastating losses. Since the beginning of the year, the Russian army's casualties in terms of personnel have amounted to about 91,000," Syrskyi noted.
The Commander-in-Chief thanked the Ukrainian soldiers for their resilience, effectiveness in combat, and unwavering belief in Ukraine's victory.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 881,000 units of personnel.
In particular, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army's losses amounted to 1,140 soldiers. Additionally, yesterday, the Defense Forces destroyed 5 tanks, 7 armored fighting vehicles, 21 artillery systems, 80 drones, and other enemy equipment.
It was also recently reported that Russia has identified the names of 95,026 soldiers who were eliminated on the front lines in Ukraine since February 2022. Notably, three out of every ten killed were prisoners.
