Russian forces are attempting to advance toward apartment buildings in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military command has already prepared measures to counter such enemy plans, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Facebook.
The general stated that he held a working meeting with the commanders of units fighting in the Pokrovsk and Ochertyne directions, particularly in the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration area.
"I reviewed reports on the operational situation within the areas of responsibility. The enemy continues attempts to break into residential areas, apartment buildings, and establish positions there to expand their control. In response, we have developed a set of measures to counter the enemy’s plans," Syrskyi said.
He noted that the current focus is on the logistics of the Ukrainian Defense Forces units, as well as countering enemy FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, artillery, and mortars.
Together with the commanders, he worked out additional courses of action for various scenarios.
"Ukrainian warriors continue to inflict significant losses on the enemy in both personnel and equipment, restricting their movements. Our commanders act with due regard for the safety and health of their subordinates," the general added.
Fighting in the Pokrovsk direction
The highest number of daily combat engagements is currently taking place in the Pokrovsk direction. The Russian army continues attempts to seize the city.
Enemy soldiers managed to break into the city, with some groups doing so under the cover of fog.
On November 11, Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces reported that more than 300 Russian soldiers were present in Pokrovsk.
According to Ukrainian forces, the Russian troops’ goal is to reach the northern outskirts of Pokrovsk and encircle the city.
