Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of Ukraine's air force units in some regions, citing ineffective interception of Russian Shahed drones, according to a statement from president.

As Zelenskyy said, today, February 6, he held a daily briefing.

"I consider the work of the Air Force in some regions of Ukraine to be unsatisfactory, and we discussed with the Commander of the Air Force and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine which decisions must be implemented immediately to more effectively intercept Shahed drones," the president stressed.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

During the night and morning today, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles of various types.

According to the Air Force, 297 enemy drones were destroyed, including Shaheds, Gerbera, Italmas, and others.

At the same time, impacts of 22 strike drones were recorded at 14 locations, and debris fell at 2 locations.

Earlier, the head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Yurii Ihnat, stated that Russia is increasingly relying not only on missiles but also on modernized unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly Shahed drones, which have evolved.

According to him, one of the biggest threats at present is precisely these drones — they are launched in the hundreds, and not only at night but also during the daytime.
