"Negotiations on resolving the situation in Ukraine in the US are not planned, and this topic has not been discussed," Peskov said.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesperson reported that the next round of negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine will take place soon, although an exact date is not yet available.

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced today that the Ukrainian delegation is returning home, and preparations for the next trilateral meetings are already underway. He also announced a conversation with European partners, which is scheduled for tomorrow.

"And right now, our parliamentary diplomacy is working in America – the chairman of the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk. Before his trip, we discussed what was most needed. This concerns support for our state, our people, and also the negotiations," Zelenskyy emphasized.

What preceded it

On Thursday, February 5, Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a statement regarding the next round of trilateral negotiations with the US and the aggressor country.

"From what can already be said – the next meetings are planned in the near future. Most likely, in America," he said.

Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is "ready for all working formats" that "will help bring peace closer and make it reliable and lasting." He added that the aggressor country must be "deprived of the appetite to continue fighting."

Negotiations in Abu Dhabi

The second stage of trilateral consultations involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia took place on February 4–5 in the UAE. The talks were held in working group format, with sessions lasting five hours each day.

During the meeting, mechanisms for implementing a ceasefire were discussed, according to Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.

A key outcome of the meeting was an agreement on a prisoner exchange – a total of 314 people, 157 from each side. Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the achievement as significant. On February 5, 157 Ukrainian soldiers returned home.
