Ukrainian specialists have restored the high-voltage line supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It had been damaged as a result of a Russian strike, according to Ukrenergo (Ukraine's national energy company).

"Ukrenergo specialists have restored the operation of the high-voltage line supplying the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant," the company's statement reads.

It was clarified that the plant has resumed receiving electricity from territory controlled by the Ukrainian government after operating for several hours on diesel generators.

Blackout at Zaporizhzhia NPP

On July 4, during a Russian strike, the line supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was automatically disconnected.

Energy workers were unable to begin emergency repair work immediately due to the threat of a repeated Russian strike.

Against this backdrop, the plant switched to power from diesel generators. These generators are the only means of ensuring the operation of the plant's life-support systems.
