Ukraine is ready to resume constructive dialogue with South Korea following Seoul's decision to recall its ambassador, as diplomatic relations should take precedence over emotions, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi told journalists.

"This week, we invited the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine to the Foreign Ministry to present our position and seek constructive solutions. The Ukrainian side's position was conveyed to him," Tykhyi said.

The Foreign Ministry emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach to relations between countries and maintaining communication.

"We believe that diplomacy must prevail over emotions. Despite Seoul's decision to recall its ambassador, Ukraine remains open to resuming constructive dialogue, even if it takes time," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed.

South Korea has decided to recall its ambassador to Ukraine, Park Ki-chang.

The country's Foreign Ministry expressed hope for a peaceful resolution of outstanding issues between the two countries and confirmed its readiness to continue consultations with the Ukrainian side.

Seoul's decision followed criticism of Ukraine over its statements regarding fuel supplies from South Korean ports.

South Korea criticized Kyiv for claiming that exports of petroleum products had helped Russia overcome fuel shortages caused by a series of major Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.
