Ukraine's Foreign Ministry rejects Russia's false claims of 'military targets' in Kryvyi Rih strike

Ukraine categorically rejects Russia's lies about alleged military targets in yesterday’s Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.
In particular, on April 4, Russia launched a missile strike on a residential neighborhood in the city of Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the attack, 18 people were killed, including 9 children, and another 62 people, including 12 children, sustained injuries of varying severity.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile was aimed at ordinary residential buildings, playgrounds, and other civilian infrastructure. Furthermore, it was equipped with a cluster warhead designed to cause maximum casualties.
"We categorically reject Russia's lies about the alleged military targets of this strike. The facts from the crime scene show that there were no military objectives. Russia's goal was deliberate terror against civilians. This strike is another war crime and a grave violation of international humanitarian law," the statement says.
Ukrainian Ministry added that with this strike, Russia "demonstrated its complete disregard" for peace efforts led by US President Donald Trump. Moreover, it sends a message to Washington that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will continue the war and keep killing Ukrainians until he feels a different level of pressure and force.
"Ukraine has been and remains committed to peaceful efforts and has taken concrete steps towards peace, unlike Russia, which continues to drag its feet and commit atrocities," the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
Currently, the Ukrainian Ministry has already informed all partner states and international organizations about the details of yesterday's Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, the type of missile used, and the consequences of this crime. In addition, the Ukrainian side has initiated the convening of meetings in a number of international organizations to ensure an appropriate response to both the shelling of Kryvyi Rih and the ongoing shelling of residential areas in other Ukrainian cities.
"We call for clear public reactions, condemnation of Russian atrocities, and concrete actions to increase pressure on Moscow and strengthen Ukraine, including bolstering our air defense and providing additional military assistance to protect Ukrainian lives. We are grateful to those of our partners who have already spoken out, clearly condemned the actions of Russian criminals, and are providing concrete assistance," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine concluded.
