Factories in Ukraine are prepared to manufacture ammunition for a million drones planned to be handed over to Ukrainian defenders in 2024, states the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, on Telegram.

He has reminded that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement about a million drones has sparked discussions on the importance of drones, the sufficiency of such a quantity, and the potential for producing ammunition.

"Regarding ammunition for drones - we have the capability for their production. Deregulation in this segment has led to the development of many new manufacturers. Currently, we have over 50 manufacturers of drone ammunition, both state-owned and private, capable of producing ammunition ranging from 300 grams to 10 kilograms of various types," states Kamyshin.

He has mentioned that the Ministry of Defense team is actively testing new drone ammunition and promptly deploying them into service.

"Ammunition for drones should be manufactured in factory conditions, not in trenches. And our factories are ready for this," emphasizes the minister.

Background

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during a press conference that in 2024, the country planned to produce a million drones.

Later, Kamyshin clarified that this specifically referred to FPV drones.
