The defense ministers of Ukraine and France, Rustem Umerov and Sébastien Lecornu, discussed opportunities for joint weapons production to support Ukraine's Defense Forces during a meeting in Brussels, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, Umerov discussed with the French Minister of the Armed Forces the involvement of French companies in the production of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Ukraine is ready to offer this opportunity to the best manufacturers — we have combat experience, and France has a strong industry. This is a mutually beneficial partnership," he emphasized.

The two sides also considered the joint production of air defense systems and "other types of weaponry, both in Ukraine and in France," the Defense Ministry added.

Earlier, it was reported that France had developed a sea-based kamikaze drone, considered an analogue of Ukraine's Magura V5. It was tested in a strike on a decommissioned barge, with the impact area pre-protected using car tires and metal sheets to prevent the vessel from sinking.
