Ukraine praises Trump's contribution to Gaza peace plan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine welcomed the agreements reached between Israel and Hamas on the release of hostages and a ceasefire. These will take place as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan, according to the Ukrainian MFA.
Ukraine praised the leadership of the United States and the role of President Donald Trump in ending the bloodshed, securing the release of hostages, and easing the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry also highlighted the role and diplomatic efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye in achieving this agreement.
"We consider this agreement as an important first step toward long-term stabilization in the Middle East, which will also contribute to strengthening international peace and security worldwide," the MFA noted.
Ukraine also called on Israel and Hamas to "fully and conscientiously" implement the agreements reached.
"As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized, Ukraine hopes that the determination of the international community will also be sufficient to compel the aggressor state, Russia, to end its war against Ukraine and restore lasting peace and security in Europe," the ministry added.
Gaza agreement
In the early hours of Thursday, October 9, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed the first stage of the US peace plan.
According to him, Hamas has effectively agreed to release all hostages, while Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed line.
It’s worth noting that on October 8, Trump announced his upcoming trip to the Middle East, saying the visit will likely take place on Sunday, October 12.
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, Hamas militants are expected to release all hostages in the first half of next week, while the signing of the final Gaza agreement is planned to take place in Egypt.
