US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of the United States peace plan, according to his post on Truth Social.

US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed the first stage of the US peace plan.

"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan," his Truth Social post read.

According to the president, this means that all hostages will soon be released, and Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line "as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace."

"This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen," Trump added.

Majed Al-Ansari, the spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, confirmed Trump’s announcement but said that the details of the Gaza deal would be revealed later.

He explained that mediators had announced an agreement reached that evening on all provisions and implementation mechanisms for the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire, which would end the war, secure the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and allow humanitarian aid to enter.

At the same time, several media outlets reported that the full peace agreement might be signed later that day, October 9, in Egypt, with some indicating that the signing was scheduled for 12:00 local time.

According to The Times of Israel, which cited two sources, Hamas was expected to release all surviving hostages on Saturday.

After Trump’s statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that, with God’s help, they would bring all the hostages home.

Hamas confirmed the agreement, expressing appreciation for the efforts of the "brotherly mediators" in Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye, as well as for President Donald Trump’s involvement.

"We announce the conclusion of an agreement that includes ending the war in the Gaza Strip, withdrawing occupation forces, delivering humanitarian aid, and exchanging prisoners," the group said, as quoted by Al Mayadeen.

According to the same outlet, Trump guarantees the ceasefire, with an initial withdrawal of 70% of Israeli troops from Gaza, followed by a complete pullout.
