Ukraine police rush to save lives after Russian airstrike hits Chernivtsi — video

After the Russian nighttime attack on Chernivtsi, patrol officers were the first to arrive at the damaged building. They not only assisted the wounded but also evacuated residents along with their pets, informs Oleksii Biloshytskyi, First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine.
Biloshytskyi noted that Russia once again struck peaceful cities overnight, from Kharkiv and Sumy regions to Lviv and Chernivtsi.
"According to the General Staff, 26 missiles and nearly 600 drones were launched. Our air defense forces intercepted most of them, but unfortunately, not all," he added.
According to the official, around 3:00 AM Kyiv time, Chernivtsi came under fire.
One of the shells hit a multi-apartment building. Patrol officers quickly arrived at the scene. They inspected the surrounding area and conducted a door-to-door check to ensure no one was left without help.
"Without delay, they began evacuating residents and carried their four-legged friends out of their homes," Biloshytskyi said.
Preliminary information indicates two people were killed in the Chernivtsi attack. Twenty-six others were injured, seven of whom were hospitalized.
"Friends, do not ignore air raid alerts. It is important. Take care of yourself and your loved ones," he concluded.
