Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia’s claims about capturing significant territories do not reflect reality and outlined the actual situation on the front line in response to journalists’ questions.

Russia’s claims of territorial gains

According to the President, Moscow’s assertions that it controls more than 700 square kilometers of Ukrainian land, including the entire Luhansk region, are baseless.

He noted that this narrative is being actively promoted, but even international partners no longer support such assessments and do not believe that Russia is winning the war.

The real situation on the front line

Zelenskyy stressed that the line of contact remains difficult and highly dynamic. Ukrainian forces repel hundreds of attacks every day while holding their positions under constant pressure.

Despite the harsh conditions, the balance of territorial changes since the start of the year favors Ukraine: more territory has been liberated than lost.

"For the past 10 months, we have been in our most stable form, but we still understand how difficult it is for our troops — there’s no chance to ease up. We will support our army in every way we can. We need more funding so that everything can be restored and unblocked, and more resources for drones, so our troops on the front line have more FPVs and other strike systems," the President said.

Russian offensives and losses

The President also commented on reports of possible offensives from Russian territory, saying such actions are not currently underway due to insufficient forces.

According to him, Russia’s monthly losses amount to tens of thousands of troops, a trend that has now become consistent.

"They simply do not have enough forces. They are losing — this is already statistics, a constant — 30,000 to 35,000 personnel every month since the start of this year," Zelenskyy stressed.

Earlier, the Ukrainian President said that deliveries of missiles for Patriot air defense systems could slow down in the near future.

Zelenskyy also said that Russia still has many dangerous and unrealistic plans, and emphasized that he would not want Belarus to be drawn into their implementation.
