The transfer of military equipment to Ukraine is impossible without Poland’s direct involvement, says Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"Our country is one of four NATO nations, along with Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands, that have been granted status by Ankara as countries to which technology related to the production and maintenance of Patriot missiles can be transferred," he says.

The Polish Minister notes that Poland is one of the countries designated by the US for this production and maintenance, so Warsaw will cooperate with Kyiv on this issue.

When asked when missile production in Ukraine might begin, Kosiniak-Kamysz states that it would take several weeks.

"This is not easy, given that only the United States manufactures Patriot missiles on such a scale that even the US cannot ensure their protection, so this needs to be done very quickly. We are fully committed. Poland is ready to immediately begin operations and carry out further activities," he emphasizes.

US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would grant Ukraine the right to manufacture Patriot air defense missile systems.

Ukraine is in dire need of air defense systems capable of shooting down Russian ballistic missiles. Kyiv has now appealed to 40 countries, requesting that they transfer missiles for the Patriot systems in exchange for future deliveries stipulated in existing contracts.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of a critical shortage of ammunition for the Patriot, NASAMS, and IRIS-T systems. According to their data, missile stocks in some units are nearly depleted.

For his part, Serhii Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Defense Minister of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine had run out of missiles capable of intercepting Russian ballistic missiles.
