According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of January 14, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a massive strike on Russian military facilities at a distance of 200 to 1,100 kilometers deep into Russia. Targets in the Bryansk, Saratov, and Tula regions and the Republic of Tatarstan were hit.
Targets attacked
The Kristal Oil Products Storage Facility in Engels, Saratov Region, was attacked. Only yesterday, a fire was extinguished there that had been burning for 5 days after the previous attack.
“The fire was successfully renewed by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine,” Ukraine's General Staff says.
Also, the Bryansk Chemical Plant in the town of Seltso was hit. This is a strategic facility of the Russian military-industrial complex. It produces ammunition for cannon artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, aviation, engineering ammunition, and components of Kh-59 cruise missiles. Secondary detonation was observed on the territory of the plant, which lasted several hours. In addition, the attack destroyed two enemy anti-aircraft missile systems - Tor and Buk.
Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, Missile Forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine were involved in this task.
The units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine targeted strategic facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex - the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Kazanorgsintez plant. A fire broke out at both facilities.
“Targeted and systematic work on the destruction of facilities that supply ammunition, military equipment, and fuel and lubricants to the Russian occupation army will continue until Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine is completely stopped,” Ukraine's General Staff said.
