Ukraine has introduced new personal sanctions against individuals and companies supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex, shadow fleet, and energy sector, according to a decree from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Today, Zelenskyy imposed additional sanctions on Russia in the military-industrial sector.

The restrictions target 37 individuals and 35 companies (one of which is from Belarus). Among them are:

  • IT companies and their executives supplying solutions for Russia’s military-industrial complex,

  • Legal entities and beneficiaries involved in producing electronic warfare and other military equipment,

  • Businesses and owners organizing imports to bypass sanctions.

The measures include economic and other restrictive actions, with oversight of their implementation assigned to the National Security and Defense Council (RNBO) and relevant state bodies. The sanctions also involve coordination with international partners to enhance their effectiveness.

On September 10, Ukraine synchronized its anti-Russian sanctions with the United Kingdom, particularly targeting individuals involved in operating Russia’s shadow tanker fleet.

According to sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk, this year’s UK sanctions were synchronized 100% with Ukraine’s measures, covering:

  • 47 individuals,

  • 81 legal entities.

Recently, Ukraine fully synchronized the sanctions introduced earlier this year by Canada. These targeted 139 individuals and entities supporting Russia’s war effort, including relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Additionally, President Zelenskyy signed two decrees imposing sanctions on foreign sponsors of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Shortly before this, Zelenskyy signed decrees introducing new personal and sectoral sanctions against 35 individuals and companies linked to the state corporation Rosatom and Russian energy firms.
