Russian forces struck six energy facilities across Ukraine on October 12, ignoring a US proposal for an "energy truce," said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the head of state, it is becoming increasingly clear that Russia does not want to agree to the US-proposed energy truce.

"Just today, the Russians attacked six energy facilities in Ukraine. Across the country, 33 people were injured," he stressed.

Zelenskyy noted that this is happening as Russia sees an opportunity to increase profits to finance its war machine.

In a separate interview with Fox News, the president emphasized that Ukraine remains ready for the United States-proposed energy truce with Russia.

"But I'm not sure that Putin is ready because even after yesterday's messages from the president about energy ceasefire, Putin attacked our gas infrastructure," he said.

The Ukrainian president pointed out that Ukraine had not attacked Russian energy facilities overnight.

"We didn't attack any energy objects on the territory of Russia because President Trump said that there will be an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. And we didn't attack, but Russia attacked our gas stations, energy infrastructure, infrastructure and other things," he explained.

The president described Russia's strikes as Putin's response to Trump.

'Energy truce'

As reported on October 11, US President Donald Trump wrote that Ukraine and Russia had allegedly agreed to stop striking energy facilities.

Afterward, President Zelenskyy said he knew nothing about such an agreement. At the same time, he said he was ready to accept such a truce.
